Stay Styled During February with Weekly Outfit Themes!

stay styled weekly outfit theme with Stacie Stine

If you’ve been following me on Instagram, you’ll be familiar with this series I’ve been doing! I decided to make it a thing both you and I can participate in this year! And we’re calling it….

Stay Styled With Stacie! #staystyledwithstacie

“How did outfit themes come about?” you asked in your Lady Whistledown/Julie Andrews narrator voice.

Two things: 1) Sometimes it’s easy to become unhappy with what’s in our closet, so we buy something new or trendy to make us feel a bit better. But what if we start approaching our closets with creativity and fresh eyes? Making GREAT outfits out of what we already have? 2) Creating an outfit theme for every week came from the monotony of COVID. I felt like I was wearing the same 5 t-shirts in my closet and I’m not sure any of my jeans/pants/skirts/dresses saw the light of day for months. I laughed OUT LOUD when I found my favorite heels hidden in the back of my closet.

As a stay-at-homer, I did have the luxury of slowing down and relaxing my outfits/not caring about what I was wearing, but I also missed the creativity of putting together an outfit. So I started picking a theme of the week to dress to— Pants, cozy, autumn, sweaters, skirts, boots, etc.

Where to shop my outfit: Boots, Black turtle neck thrifted, skirt thrifted, trench vest.

There were weeks I kept my outfit theme private, and there were weeks I shared about it on instagram, and surprisingly, many people echoed their need to have a little motivation. I also found myself wanting to share style tips with each outfit challenge— So, if you follow along with weekly challenges— you’ll also be getting ideas for how you can style your own closet, while I challenge my own style with my closet!

Weekly Outfit Challenge to keep your closet interesting!

As with all things, I’m not too hard on myself with this challenge and you shouldn’t be either. If the theme is pants, and I wear pants twice that week— THAT’S A WIN. If the theme is skirts, and I wear a skirt for half a day— THAT’S A WIN. If the theme is cozy and we lean into that real hard with jammies every day— WIN.

The point is to encourage intentional outfit curation and creativity— not to police ourselves.

Let’s get creative with our closets, yeah?

Stacie
