Quick Wide Headband DIY

Cozy sweater weather and mugs vibes with Stacie Stine

I am always unsure about trends until they’re just about over. Ha! But I have finally given into this wide headband trend. And I really love it. Especially as someone who loves wearing hats, headbands, and scarves (helloooooo once a week hair washers!).

This DIY took me about ten minutes and helped me turn two accessories I didn’t love into one accessory I absolutely love. Do you have accessories like these hiding in your closet that you haven’t Marie Kondo’d yet?

What you’ll need:

Hot glue gun, Scarf, and Headband. The scarf I used was a long rectangular scarf, not a square scarf, and I think that helped the wrapping process.

Also, don’t you love my little gold hot glue gun? I bought the glue sticks and the glue gun at Michaels for under $10.

This DIY starts with a lot of wrapping, and ends with a lot of wrapping. Wrap, wrap, wrap. I made a quick video for you!

How to do it:

  1. Take one end of the scarf and one end of the headband and start hot glue the end of the scarf to the end of the headband, then begin wrapping.

  2. Wrap a few times, and hot glue the scarf to the headband every few wraps.

  3. Once you have finished wrapping the whole scarf around the headband— glue down any loose ends that may or may not stick out.

  4. Voila! You’re done! Wear that headband, babe.

Go find yourself a fun scarf at the thrift store this weekend and do this quick DIY!
